Jonathan Berr started his career in business journalism in 1997. He spent seven years as a reporter at Bloomberg News, where he covered electric utilities, defense contractors, media companies, and technology companies. While at Bloomberg, Berr discovered that the defense contractor Raytheon was illegally tipping favored Wall Street analysts about its earnings. His report sparked an SEC investigation and sanction against the company. The Raytheon story won The Gerald Loeb Award, one of the most prestigious prizes in journalism.
